I never read Calvin and Hobbes as a child and I don't think I would've appreciated how smart it is anyway. Come to think of it, I barely ever read comics as a kid..but I think Bill Watterson is a genius. I hope they never make a shitty movie out of his comic.

LOL! Awww Hapy XD I love how you emulated his style, though!

I did a whole project presentation on Bill Watterson in secondary school, and I still remember my art teacher was really unimpressed that the 'artist' I chose was Bill Watterson. But he was definitely an artist, in all senses of the word, so hmph. XD (And I definitely hope they never make a shitty movie out of his comic :'D)

Calvin and Hobbes was like one of the best newspaper comics ever. I remember reading it every day as a kid.

I now own the complete hardcover collection of strips even.

The thing I remember most about Bill Watterson is that he never tried to push his comic into merchandising. Whereas Garfield for example had cartoons, toys, movies, etc, etc... Calvin and Hobbes only had stuff made without the author's permission as he never wanted to push C&H like that.

Did you see he came back to do some guest strip comics for a comic called "Pearls Before Swine"? Look it up if not. It's pretty funny.

I loved Calvin and Hobbes as a kid. But I never got any of the jokes until I became 17, so you got that part right.
I had no idea what an atheist was, what a communist was, or anything.
